Sales and Commissions
For the last twenty years, I have had a business selling calligraphic design in many forms. My work falls into two general categories, fine art and commercial lettering. After twenty years as a calligrapher, I still find myself working in both areas.
When you are in Asheville, NC, visit Studio Italiana at 25 Patton Avenue to see my recent paintings, drawings and calligraphic pieces. This gallery carries contemporary art by a number of local and regional artists, as well as fine furniture. Asheville is a major center for the arts, and this gallery is part of the thriving gallery scene.
Because many of my clients have specific texts they wish to see written out beautifully, much of my work is by commission. I usually meet with my clients over the telephone, via fax or the internet, and sometimes in person. With a sense of what you need, I can then begin work in the studio. The work you see on the Fine Hand Lettering and Calligraphy pages falls into this category. Whether you need a logo, a certificate or a love poem, I will be happy to design it for you.
Much of the gallery work that I do, which you see in the Painting, Illustration and Artist Book sections, is also available. Some of the pieces are original drawings artist books or paintings, others are limited edition prints and reproductions.
